When Speed is Important and Quality Counts

Modular construction means a home is built in sections, called modules, and delivered to the home site. A modular home is still stick built, it just happens to be stick built off site in a factory. Construction can start in the factory before the site work is done and the foundation is ready. We begin building the home when materials and labor are ready, not the home site. Construction of the home in the factory is scheduled to coincide almost perfectly with the completion of the foundation onsite. Within days of the home site being ready, we deliver the modular home on carriers to the property.

On the day following delivery, we typically start the installation process. It can take as little as a single day to crane lift all of the modules of the home off of the carriers and place them gently on your prepared foundation. The roof is quickly assembled and the attachments are made to the foundation. The carriers are taken back to the factory. After several weeks the home is connected to the utilities onsite and the locations where the modular homes sections opened to each other are completed. The exterior finishes are completed and the home is ready for move in.

Factory construction of your new home enables Express Modular to build it faster and build it better. Your home is built indoors. The floors never get wet from the rain. All of the materials used to build a home are stored inside and kept dry until they are needed. Skilled craftsman work on your home under nearby supervision and quality inspectors (not just code inspectors) are there each step of the way to insure your home is built properly. The simple fact that your home is built in a factory means it is built with a precision that just can’t be achieved when building outdoors in the elements.

South Carolina – The Palmetto State

A palmetto is a fan palm found in southern states. South Carolina is steeped in Civil War history and the state was the first to secede from the Union following troops firing on federal Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor. Once primarily agricultural, farms have become fewer but larger in recent years.

Major attractions include: Fort Sumter National Monument, Fort Moultrie, Fort Johnson, and aircraft carrier USS Yorktown in Charleston Harbor; the Middleton, Magnolia, and Cypress Gardens in Charleston; Cowpens National Battlefield; and the Hilton Head resorts.

State Facts & Fun

Before being known as the Palmetto State, South Carolina was known as, and had emblazoned on their license plates, the Iodine State.
