Our family of experienced consultants achieves this while promoting our core beliefs of service, quality, customer satisfaction, and value. More often we are using our modern modular building techniques to create truly custom homes for our satisfied customers.

Modular homes from Express Modular combines the most desirable methods of traditional, site-built construction with the economic, technological and environmental advantages of building your new home in an indoor factory environment. The individual parts in any home (for example, a cabinet or a roof truss) are manufactured in a controlled factory environment according to defined specifications and tested to ensure that they meet industry standards. Express Modular’s homes are no different – we create our homes using similar techniques. The modular building process results in a home that is built faster, greener, better, and with virtually none of the headaches presented by historic, site built construction.

About Modular Home Construction

Creating Your Modular Home

With modular homes, in-factory construction quality is invariably better than that which is traditionally built on site. Lumber cut with a hand-held circular saw at a job site are not as precise as those cut with fixed tools in a factory. What’s more, factory inspections cover every construction feature from floor framing to final paint. Trained factory inspectors or independent third party inspectors perform more than a dozen inspections per home. Local building inspectors may only conduct three or four announced inspections on the average conventionally built home. All building materials are stored out of the weather. Wet materials stored at many on-site building locations are built into the new home resulting in warped walls, ceilings and mold problems. With modular construction your new home is built to the highest possible standard and packaged for transport to your job site.

Delivery of your new custom modular home is generally scheduled as soon as possible after factory completion and your home site is ready. Almost immediately after your home is finished in the factory, delivery is planned after confirmation that the job site is ready. Once your home is delivered, Express Modular will coordinate the installation of your home on the foundation with an experienced set and crane crew. It all takes place very quickly at this point in the process. At this stage, the site and basement utilities get finished, the heating system is installed (if not factory completed) and the concrete and yard work are finished. In the final stage, the interior finish will be completed between the modular sections, this will include finishing floor seams, mate wall doors and jambs, and drywall and paint touch up. Most modular homes will be finished within approximately 6 weeks of delivery and ready for you to enjoy!

Green Building

Homebuyers are becoming knowledgeable about the advantages of using “green” technology when building their new home. Modular homes are a natural choice when “green” features are important. The National Green Building Standard™ (NGBS) is the only residential green building rating system approved by ANSI as an American National Standard. The NGBS provides practices for the design and construction of all types of green residential buildings, renovations, and land developments. It primarily focuses on three areas: healthy homes, lower operating costs, and sustainable lifestyle. Green building brings together a vast array of methods, techniques, and skills to reduce and eventually eliminate the impacts of buildings on the environment and human health. There are over 100 Green Building Certification programs. Ultimately, the type of certification system pursued for a new home depends upon that particular project; none of the certification systems are a one-size-fits all.

Newly built modular homes use modern materials that don’t present the health risks of materials used in many older homes and even new site-built homes. These can include: mold & mildew, asbestos, Volatile Organic Compounds, lead paint, etc. Environmental responsibility is a big part of the modular construction process. Constructing your new home in a factory means efficient and consistent building processes. Several Green Building Programs literally award additional points for the use of modular construction because of the efficient building process. Let Express Modular help you accomplish your required level of “green”: from simple energy efficiency to net-zero and beyond.
