Safe and Healthy Living With Modular Homes

With factory construction, a modular homes level of completion at the factory is about 75-85%. Once the home is on your property, Express Modular will erect your home on the prepared foundation. The full process of transport, installation, and finish is strictly managed. Onsite, the remainder of the finish work is done. The checklist of items includes: connection of utilities, interior and exterior button-up, and the balance of site work which may include porches, driveways, sidewalks, yard, etc. Most homes, once set on your foundation, are completed and ready to move into within about 6 weeks.
Designing A New Modular Home
Design for a new modular home will start with determining the Wind Zone, Thermal Zone and Roof Load Zone of the building location. All of these must be incorporated in the design from the start, and integrated into any engineering step of the plan. You’ll want layouts for your attached garages, verandas or decks as they are not a part of the modular home plan. It is essential for you to catalog what you need to plan for your residence so it can be established that these will be incorporated into the plan.
There are no limits to the square footage to the plan using modular homes; currently there are designs as large as 1500 to 3000 square feet constructed in 32 modules, with your common range between 4 to 6 thousand sq ft within ten to twelve modules. With the growing interest and demand for energy efficiency, Express Modular takes pride in delivering the most energy efficient home possible. As an Energy Star partner, Express Modular offers several items as standard that meets or exceeds current Energy Star, LEED, and Green Building Standards. Express Modular allows you, the customer, the opportunity to modify any of our modular homes to meet or exceed the requirements for the certification of your choice. If it’s an optional Energy Star Certified home you require, Express Modular will partner with a third party Energy Star rater to guarantee your custom home meets or exceeds the existing requirements specified by Energy Star.
