Get to Know Express Modular
As a seasoned leader in custom modular homes, at Express Modular we pride ourselves in the ability to design, engineer and build a truly custom crafted home. Our team of expert consultants achieves this while maintaining our core beliefs of quality, customer satisfaction, service and value. We offer hundreds of standard plans, but they are used as a mere starting point to be modified by customers to meet specific lifestyle and housing needs. More often we are exploiting our modern modular construction techniques to provide truly custom homes for our happy customers.
Our modular homes combine the best practices of traditional, site-built construction with the technological, economic and environmental advantages of creating your custom home in a controlled environment. The component parts in any home (for example, a light or a floor truss) are manufactured in a controlled factory environment according to precise specifications and tested to ensure that they meet applicable standards. Modular homes from Express Modular are no different – we build our homes using similar techniques. The modular construction process results in a home that is built better, greener, faster, and with a fraction of the headaches presented by traditional, on site construction.
Safe and Healthy Living With Modular Homes
Designing Your Modular Home
Building off-site in a controlled environment using the modular construction methodology provides many inherent green advantages over conventional construction. It does this by minimizing disturbance to the site, reducing vehicular traffic, and lowering the construction costs of modular homes. Building in a controlled environment means virtually no weather delays. Materials are ordered, received and safely stored in a dry warehouse so replacement due to weather damage or loss is eliminated. It also means that while your home is being constructed in the factory, that site development is occurring simultaneously, significantly shortening the completion time. Modules are “shrink-wrapped” at the factory to protect your home while being transported to your home site.
Final quality assurance is completed at the factory, and your custom modular home is placed on your building site. Once onsite, a crane and an expert crew place your home on its foundation. Modular homes are built to withstand all of the stresses of delivery to your site and being lifted by a crane. All of this was accomplished in a timeframe that was one-half to two-thirds of the duration needed by traditiona outdoor construction. Once finished, modular homes reflect the same design intent and specifications of the most sophisticated site-built home – without compromise.
Making it Custom with Modular Homes
Express Modular builds custom homes. While we may have thousands of standard home plans to review, we rarely build with them. Our prospective home buyers will use those plans as a “good start” towards designing their own custom home plan or they will provide us with a custom house plan from another source. Some will use our free design tool and create their own house plan for us to “modularize” and use it to build their custom home. We are exclusive partners with a major custom house plan company, Architectural Designs, which makes available over 28,000 custom house plans. We have teamed with them to develop a modular friendly custom home plan collection that gives you access to thousands of house plans that can be purchased and built using modular construction.
There is really no such thing as a modular home. Modular is a construction technique, not a type of home. Express Modular is a custom home builder that chooses to only use modular construction for delivery of our custom built homes. Because we are the only nationwide modular home builder we have unique experience and insights that give you an advantage. Nearly all custom builders only build homes in small geographic areas limiting their exposure to ideas, new methods, and unique building materials. You get the benefit of our broad exposure to how custom homes are built across the country.
Today’s homebuyer demands energy efficiency. Express Modular prides itself in building the most energy efficient home possible. Currently an Energy Star partner, Express Modular offers many features as standard that meets or exceeds current Energy Star, LEED, and Green Building Standards. Express Modular allows you, the customer, the option to custom tailor any of our modular homes to meet the requirements for the program of your choosing. If it’s an optional Energy Star Certified home you require, Express Modular will team up with a third party Energy Star rater to guarantee your new home meets or exceeds the current requirements mandated by Energy Star.
Modern modular construction means less homeowner headaches. Indoor construction in a controlled environment means exterior finishes are completed last, instead of first. We can build your new home from the inside out, the opposite of conventional outdoor construction. What this means to you is that the building envelope of your new home can be designed to be super energy efficient. This just comes standard with modular homes and their construction process. Increased insulation, better sealants, and the use of advanced materials are just a few of the reasons to pick the worry-free benefits of modular construction for your new home.
