Design for a new modular home will start with determining the Wind Zone, Thermal Zone and Roof Load Zone of the building location. All of these must be incorporated in the design from the start, and incorporated into any engineering step of the plan. There are no limits to the square footage to the plan using modular homes; currently there are designs as large as 1500 to 3000 square feet constructed in 32 modules, with your common range between 4 to 6 thousand sq ft within ten to twelve modules.
